Wellness at Sea
29th January 2019, The Caledonian Club
“In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 goals for a better world by 2030. These goals have the power to end poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. Guided by the goals, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone.” - The Global Goals for sustainable development
In line with Global Goal No. 17, Partnerships for the Goals, At ZS Wellness we use the power of collaboration/cooperation at the intersection of technology and innovation to make a meaningful impact in the world, especially for the lives of men and women in the maritime industry. We are proud to work closely with our industry partners at The UK P&I Club, The Dan Roberts Group, Red Square Medical, Garmin and Oracle. These collaborative partnerships have awarded ZS Wellness with “The Best for Crew Support and Welfare 2018” at The Maritime and Shipping Awards.
There is some fabulous work being done by not-for-profit organisations for the wellness of crew at sea and there has been a growing, proactive discussion surrounding the too. However, we are all in this together in one shape or other, to help improve the lives of men and women who make international trade possible. Together we are working towards at least three of the Global Goals:
Good Health and Wellbeing, Global Goal No. 3 Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
Quality Education, Global Goal No. 4 Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Gender Equality, Global Goal No. 5 Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
We invite all industry stakeholders from organisation working directly with crew and ship operation to our charitable stakeholders to come together to discuss and develop a sustainable action plan for the future of wellness at sea, to learn from our industry partners the work that is already being done and to start working together “to build a better future for everyone".
